Service Description
This online training is for mental health professionals and students. This 8-hour practitioner training provides an evidence-informed, neuro-affirming framework for understanding neurodivergent burnout. It explores autistic and ADHD-related burnout experiences, nervous-system regulation, sensory and cognitive load, masking, emotional regulation, coexisting conditions, hormonal influences, identity, environmental demands, and long-term sustainability. Participants learn to identify contributing layers, recognise when standard burnout approaches may be insufficient, and consider appropriate adaptations, referrals, and supports. The training includes guided discussion, interactive exercises, and case-based application. Learning Objectives By the end of the training, participants will be able to: 1. Identify burnout stages and differentiate neurodivergent burnout from depression, anxiety, and occupational burnout 2. Apply Polyvagal Theory and somatic approaches to address client burnout 3. Understand neurological, sensory, emotional, physiological, social, and environmental contributors 4. Explore masking, executive-function demands, nervous-system regulation, co-occurring conditions, hormones, identity, and sustainability 5. Apply a layered framework to more complex burnout presentations 6. Consider appropriate accommodations, scope of practice, and referral needs 7.
